At Mirefoot Cottages we are committed to making our guest experiences as enjoyable as possible. We are also committed to reducing our environmental impact, promoting the surrounding countryside and helping communities and individuals when and where we can.

Our Environmental Commitment Statement outlines our targets and goals for the next 3 years. We are working hard to provide the best guest experience while following the ethos of Conserve, Protect and Promote.

Electric Car Charger

We have an EV charger on site at Mirefoot which is available for guests to use during their stay. This is located at the side of the pool building, and is £10 per charge. Please ask a member of staff during your stay to use the charger.

  • Private water supply – 100% of water usage is treated on site from the local tarn

  • Develop bee and butterfly attraction points, over 1 acre of wildflowers planted
  • Nature and Bird spotting guides in all cottages
  • Nature spotter diary to capture experiences, photos, pressings and tips in all cottages
  • Stargazing equipment available to all cottages upon request

Local

  • Retail and Guest products produced and supplied from local companies under a 3-mile radius.
  • Local Football Team sponsorship – IBIS juniors, Kendal.

Waste

  • On-site recycling facilities
  • Guest composting facilities
  • Recycle/reuse 100% cardboard
  • Compostable coffee pods

  • Mental health awareness programme
