The weather station at Mirefoot Self Catering Cottages in the Lake District was installed in January 2007. It has been operating continuously since then.

The weather is recorded by a Davis Vantage Pro2 plus automatic weather station which is located in and around the gardens at Mirefoot. The main sensors for temperature, humidity, rainfall, UV, and solar are situated 4' above the ground and the anenometer is postioned on a pole approx 4' above the roofline of the house. Prior to the installation of the Davis system, a Oregon Scientific station was used, but was not reliable and only lasted for 18 months. The oregon scientific station was not able to log its data to a PC and so was not able to supply information on the weather tho the internet.

The folowing pages, produced by the weatherlink software supplied with the Davis weather station, produce a lake district weather forecast. They supply current weather conditions and historical data to the internet. Historical weather details are for 1 week, 1 month and 1 year.
